Enhancing site security with new Lightsail firewall feature

AWS Lightsail for Beginners – Enhancing server security with new Lightsail Firewall Features

In this video I will show you the new Lightsail Firewall feature. Lightsail now allows you to restrict ports to specific IP Addresses. This feature added a layer of extra security for your Lightsail instances. Along with this update, Lightsail offers two more capabilities:

  • Explicitly allowing or disallowing remote access to instances via Lightsail’s web-based console
  • Support for PING

This feature is useful if you have SSH and RDP ports open for connectivity and want to restrict them to only certain IP addresses. The added layer prevents your server from hack attempts.
